Call of Duty MP XP Farming Tips — Faster Leveling in BO6 & BO7

Quick answer

  • Objective-based modes (Hardpoint, Domination, Kill Confirmed) beat Team Deathmatch for raw XP per minute because you're paid for actions beyond just kills.
  • Stack Battle Pass and contract tokens before a session instead of letting them sit unused — they multiply, they don't replace, your match XP.
  • No August 2026 Double XP event is confirmed as of this writing — the last verified one ran July 16–20. Don't plan a grind around a date that isn't locked yet.

Where XP Actually Comes From

Base XP is match performance — kills, assists, objective plays, and the end-of-match completion bonus. On top of that sits challenge and contract XP, which is usually the bigger lever: a single contract can outweigh several matches of base XP, and it stacks independently of how well you're actually playing.

Best Modes for Passive XP Right Now

Hardpoint and Domination reward near-constant scoring events tied to objective play, so XP accrues even in rounds where your K/D isn't great. Kill Confirmed adds a bonus for collecting tags on top of the kill itself. Straight Team Deathmatch is the worst of the common modes for XP density — it pays for kills and nothing else.

ModeMatch lengthXP density
HardpointLonger, rotation-basedHigh — near-constant scoring
DominationMediumHigh — cap/hold bonuses stack
Kill ConfirmedMediumMedium-high — tag bonus on kills
Team DeathmatchShortLowest — kills only

Token, Contract, and Challenge Stacking

Before you sit down to grind, check your Battle Pass for any weapon or Double XP tokens sitting unused, and clear whatever daily/weekly contracts are active. Tokens are time-limited once activated, so pop them right before a session starts, not while you're mid-queue.

Don't do this

Don't build your week around a rumored August Double XP weekend. As of mid-August 2026 nothing's been officially confirmed beyond the July 16–20 event — treat any specific date you see online as unverified until it shows up in-game.

BO6 Standalone Changes What's Worth Grinding Where

Since July 7, 2026, BO6 no longer needs the COD HQ launcher to boot, which means less overhead if you're splitting sessions between BO6 and BO7. That said, BO7 is where the live seasonal content and balance patches are landing — Season 5's Aug 5 hotfix, for instance — so if you only have time for one title, BO7 MP is the higher-value grind.

Pro tip

If you're leveling toward a specific gun's camo rather than account rank, pair objective-mode grinding with the weapon-specific approach in the weapon leveling guide — the two goals don't compete for the same time.

When Grinding Isn't Worth Your Time

If leveling is standing between you and something you actually want to play — ranked, Zombies, whatever — it's fine to hand the repetitive part off. bo6-level-up-services handles the account-level grind directly so the matches you do play are the ones you chose.
